Getting the length right is one of the most important tailoring details. At Denim Surgeon, we offer multiple hemming options to match the look and feel of your jeans:
• Recreate or Reattach Hems — Keep the original factory finish, seamlessly reattached.
• Chainstitch Hemming — Authentic finishes done on our vintage Union Special machine.
• Raw (Distressed) Hems — Leave the edge unfinished for a natural, frayed look that continues to evolve with wear.
• Embellished Hems — Custom finishes for a unique, personalized touch.

Wide-leg jeans with openings greater than 10” incur a $10 upcharge.
Sometimes jeans feel too tight in the thighs, hips, or calves — but that doesn’t mean you have to retire them. With jeans expansion tailoring, we can size up your denim by inserting gussets that add room where it’s needed most.
This service allows us to:
• Widen the legs for a more comfortable fit.
• Add subtle space at the hips or waist.
• Expand the width of the legs and/or add a flare for a new silhouette.
• Convert jeans into maternity jeans by adding wide elastic gussets in the sides for comfort and flexibility during pregnancy.
• Preserve the original design and character of your jeans.

Back pockets are never compromised — we adjust while preserving the original design.
Tapering or narrowing the legs can completely transform the fit. We can turn jeans from boot cut to straight, or slim down the profile while maintaining comfort.

Selvedge denim has unique character and requires extra care. From tapering to hemming, we handle these garments with techniques that maintain their integrity while improving fit.
Our tailoring services are designed to look and feel like the jeans were made that way from the start. We preserve original seams, thread color, and hardware wherever possible to ensure an undetectable, factory-quality finish.
