Selvedge Denim Tailoring

Expert alterations for selvedge denim jeans

Selvedge denim jeans are built to last and deserve the same level of craftsmanship in their alterations. At Denim Surgeon, we’ve dedicated years to perfecting the art of tailoring selvedge denim jeans. From subtle tapers to complete leg adjustments, every alteration is performed from the inner seam to preserve the selvedge, ensuring the integrity of the fabric remains intact.

Our approach goes beyond fit. We take pride in details others overlook—reattaching original labels, carefully matching thread color and texture, and finishing hems with authentic chain-stitching on our vintage Union Special machine. The result is denim that looks natural, feels right, and wears as if it came from the factory that way.

(Alongside tailoring, we also provide repair & reinforcement services for high-stress areas such as crotch blowouts and pocket bags, helping extend the life of your jeans without altering their appearance.)
